Viewing Tasks and Searching

Tasks Pro™ allows you to view your tasks in several of different ways. There is the main Tree View which shows tasks in their hierarchical organization and there are list views which allow you to flatten the task hierarchy.

In any of these views, you can use the Owner Filter to choose to see your own tasks, tasks for a specific group, or tasks for all of your groups combined.

Tree View

The main view of your tasks is the hierarchical tree view, where you can expand and collapse task information. You can also add new tasks or notes, go to the editing screen for any task, mark a task complete, or delete a task using the icons in the tree view.

List Views

The Upcoming, Sortable and History screens show individual tasks in a list, without the task hierarchy. You can click on the column headers to sort the tasks by any of the columns.

Sortable Column Headers

While in the list view, you can click the checkbox next to several tasks and delete, edit or mark those tasks complete.

Searching

The basic search interface allows you to enter search terms into a single text field. Any tasks and notes that have these terms in their title and/or notes will be returned in the search results list.

Basic Search Form

However, Tasks Pro™ also has advanced search capabilities. Click the 'More Search Options' link and the advanced search form is displayed. You can search for tasks by priority, % complete, by date (entered, modified, due), by owner, by group, etc.

Advanced Search Form

From the search results list, you can use all of the features of a list view as described above. You can also bookmark a search and have it re-run whenever you select the bookmark.

Tip: Use the 'Search Under' field to search for tasks within a certain task tree. Set the % Complete to 100 to search for completed tasks.
